Holidays!!: Picnic!!

Fun, sun, food, freezing water, nature, family; that was our Sunday!

Early start leaving at 8:30 for a place called Geres about an hour away from here to have our family picnic. All together there were about 18 of us! Not long after leaving, little baby cousin in the car I was in threw up, eugh, I nearly threw up too, SO gross. So glad my sister was sat next to him, she cleaned it all up while I was trying to act normal and not doing a good job of it! Halfway a toilet break, espresso and petrol and then we headed off again on a very windy road to a small-ish mountain to have our picnic!

Beautiful place, lots of trees, the sound of a running river and small waterfalls. We set up, chilled out a bit and had some snacks since not much breakfast had been eaten! We then decided to take a "walk" down to the river to swim, however getting hit in the head, cut by thorns and falling over was definitely the order of the day. Think that only 4 people out of us all ended up not falling at some point during the day. But much fun was had!

Injuries I acquired: walked into a tree branch and nearly passed out - very sore head; scratched leg on thorn bush - scratched, red leg; fell in river hitting own child in nose on way down and twisting arm - sore bum, sore ego, sore child; fighting with brother cos of intense splashing caused foot to get stuck in rocks - very sore toe!!

My dad also fell in the river, cutting his foot and getting quite a fright, but he's ok, mobile phone also survived amazingly, we have decided it's waterproof! We enjoyed swimming in the very cold water, however it took AGES to work up the courage to actually fully get it! Felt like swimming in ice.

Lunch was amazing, so much stuff to pick from, we even had enough for dinner! A great few games of UNO in the afternoon with a lot of laughter and silliness and more swimming before it was time to pack up.

We ended up leaving at 7pm, a full day of fun, silliness, photos, diving, falling, laughter & family! Can't wait for the family BBQ next Sunday!
